An outstanding French composer and organist, Dagincourt was a student of Lebègue. Soon after completion of his musical studies Dagincourt accepted the position of organist of the Royal Chapel. Dagincourt’s works remind compositions of François Couperin, whom Dagincourt admired. Dagincourt’s best works introduce many innovative elements, a skillful use of ornamentation, as well as vivid exploration of rhythm.
