Pietro Nardini short biography

A noted Italian violinist and composer, Pietro Nardini began his music studies with Tartini in Padova at age 12. Very soon Nardini commenced a very successful career as a performer and teacher. In 1770 Nardini was appointed the first violinist at the chapel of the Court of the Grand Duchy Leopoldo and later became music director there. Leopold Mozart wrote about Nardini: ‘the beauty and purity of his cantabile sound is unequaled.’
