Carl Philipp Stamitz short biography

An important German string player and composer, Carl Stamitz was the son of Johann Stamitz who also was Carl’s first music teacher. Carl Stamiz was recognized very early as a violin and viola virtuoso. Stamiz was a very productive composer, especially in the fields of orchestral music, symphonies, violin and viola concertos as well as a great quantity of chamber music.
