Pietro Mascagni short biography

One of the most outstanding Italian composers at the beginning of the 20th century, Pietro Mascagni had an enormous triumph with his first opera, Cavalleria Rusticana. A formidable composer, Mascagni wrote 15 operas, an operetta, orchestral and vocal works, songs and piano compositions. In addition to being an internationally famous composer, Mascagni enjoyed a very successful career of a conductor.
