Henry Purcell short biography

One of the greatest British composers, Henry Purcell, for most part of his short life, held the position of a composer, organist and singer at the Chapel Royal. A creator and developer of a musico-dramatic form, Purcell wrote almost exclusively for the stage, the church and for general popular entertainment. Purcell was highly acclaimed as a master of compositional techniques and expressive melodic material.
